  • 1998-ferrari-355-berlinetta

A UK-supplied, right-hand drive example fitted with the desirable manual gated gearbox. Fresh to market following 15 years spent off the road in professional storage. Inheriting the proportions of its predecessor, the F355 was outwardly a much better resolved proposition, both aesthetically and aerodynamically. However, beneath the fabulous styling and smoother skin were further major advancements, including power steering, variable damping and a 100cc engine enlargement. The longitudinally mounted 3,496cc V8 generated a market-leading 380bhp at a spine-tingling 8,250rpm and the gearbox now had six speeds with a revised synchromesh making gear changes so much smoother. New electronically adjustable shock absorbers varied their stiffness within milliseconds to suit the road surface and the result of all these developments was evident around Ferrari's 1.86 mile Fiorano test track when the F355 was two seconds a lap faster than the 12-cylinder 512 TR. Sitting on the cusp between analogue and digital the F355 is considered the forerunner of all modern Ferraris and as the last of the hand-built cars before the 360 and later descendants moved to mass production. It will inevitably slip into the role of 'Classic Ferrari' with ease, becoming increasingly sought after now as the market appreciated next year's investment. Classically presented in Rosso Corsa with a Crema interior and red carpets, this UK-supplied, right-hand drive F355 is fitted with the desirable manual gearbox and according to its accompanying service book, was delivered via Stratstone, Wilmslow to a Mr Higginson on 4th August 1998. The odometer at the time of cataloguing was showing 36,938 miles and the V5C shows four former keepers. The car has been off the road without an MOT since 2010 kept in professional storage and is therefore fresh to market from long term ownership. In preparation for this sale, in June 2025 over £8,000 was invested into the mechanicals of the car including removing the engine, replacing timing belts, hydraulic tensioners, aux belts, AC belt, spark plugs, ignition leads and oil and fuel filters. In addition to this work the seller tells us that the 355 will be issued with a fresh MOT prior to the auction We very much encourage interested parties to come and see the car in the metal at Silverstone. Cosmetically it is in need of some further love and attention and despite the recent investment, it has been off the road for 15 years so buyers will perhaps need to factor in further recommissioning considering it’s lack of road-use. Guided very competitively, factoring in the above, this is a rare and desirable car that is crying out for its new owner to get it back on the road. A 355 when fully sorted is hugely engaging to drive, particularly when fitted with the manual gearbox, the V8 when on full song sounds like an F1 car and is simply addictive. 1998 Ferrari 355 Berlinetta Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1953 Jaguar XK120 FBI

This particular example, Chassis # 681234, is one of those 2,680 Fixed Head Coupes. It was built on September 11, 1953, and delivered to Hornburg Jaguar in Los Angeles, California the following month as a black car with a contrasting tan interior. While there is a gap in the ownership history, receipts for parts show that a Harvey Williamson, then CEO of First Pacific National Bank, is believed to be this Jaguar’s long-term California owner who, according to a “bill of sale” later sold it to fellow Californian Jack Rabell in 1999. Around this time, the Jaguar underwent a full restoration to Concours standards, with the cosmetic work being completed by Brian Anderson of Classic European Restorations. Between 2000 and 2011, this XK 120 was displayed at numerous Jaguar Clubs of North America Concours events where it won Best in Class in 2000, 2002, and twice in 2011, among countless other awards. Owing to the incredible quality and attention to detail of the restoration are 99.99, 100.00, and 99.98 point finishes at three different events from 2010 to 2011. At one point this example even received the accolade as “the best XK120 FHC in North America”. According to the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, this Jaguar still retains its original engine and cylinder head along with its original body color. The only change from its original specifications is the interior color, which has been changed from tan to red. More recently this example received a proper service from K&T Vintage Sports Cars in Bethlehem, PA, a well-respected local marque specialist. From May to August 2021, they replaced and repaired several items on this XK120 including a new distributor rotor, wires, and steering arm bushings. From October to December 2021, they installed a new thermostat and housing, an aftermarket overflow and recovery tank, as well as a larger radiator fan. The Jag returned to K&T Vintage Sports Cars earlier this year for a proper sorting and updating to make it turn-key and ready for the next owner. This specific XK120 stands above the rest as being an award-winning older restoration that still holds up well to this day. The recent services performed have maintained the drivetrain in top condition, ensuring it’s ready to take on any winding road or win more trophies on a Concours lawn. Upon purchase, the new owner will receive the tool roll, jack, spare, fitted luggage, and other accessories, as well as the JDHT certificate copy, and all service records on file. This XK120 offers incredible value as the asking price of this example is a fraction of the cost and time it would take to bring another to this level, amazing value in today’s market. EXTERIOR Body And Paint This XK120, finished in Black with spats is emblematic of how good one of these cars can look. The quality of the paint and body work needs to be of the highest standard when in black, and we can report that this is the case with this car. Itis straight down the sides with clean lines and panel fitment throughout. The awards and 99+ point JCNA judging sheets will confirm the deep glass like finish to the paint and overall presentation. For a 20+ year old restoration it has held up very well and remains show worthy to this day. Glass And Trim The glass is a mixture of original and replacement. Basically the only original piece of glass is that of the rear window which still bears the TriPlex insignia along with some blemishes as to be expected from the age. All of the other glass on the car we can assume was replaced when the car was restored and is of an unknown maker. Though they are clear and without issues. Wheels The wheels are indicative of the age of the restoration. They present well overall and at a glance, but upon close inspection once can see some minor chips that have been touched up or a few minor chips noticeable along the wheel edge (likely from tire replacement). The trim rings and center caps are excellent overall, albeit with a few minor imperfections from age, but nothing that warrants refinishing. Notable Flaws The door edge on the driver side does have one or two pencil point sized chips. The grill top where it meets the bonnet shows a chip that was touched up. The bottom of the nose where the bonnet settles into the bonnet shows some cracking. The passenger side vent shows a small chip as well. Lastly, the trunk lid has a faint scuff on the edge where it passes by the bumperette (very common on XK120’s). It appears that the top of the passenger front fender, if viewed in the right light with a critical/trained eye, one car see some minor aging in the paint in the form of primer shrinkage mostly - most people will never see this. All things considered, these are very minor and do not warrant any attention and we would still consider this car to be a competitive show entrant. INTERIOR Seats And Surfaces The interior matches the rest of the vehicle with one goal in mind - winning JCNA events. The surfaces and finishes are correct throughout with no major issues or inconsistencies to note. The door cards, carpet set, leather, wood dash fascia and interior trim are all nicely restored and holding up well. The only notable flaws are some scratching on the sill and some minor wear on the drivers side bolster area. The headliner, center console area, under the dash and parcel shelf are all nicely appointed as well. Functionality And Accessories Just about everything was in correct working order with the exception of the interior cabin lighting and the heater blower motor. Otherwise all knobs, pulls and switches appeared to be in correct working order. ENGINE BAY AND TRUNK Engine Bay The engine bay is very well tended to and remains show worthy. The careful addition of a few items, such as the cooling fan, some upgraded wire connectors and the cooling expansion tank may take away from points if shown. But this car has plenty of accolades already and the recent service was completed with reliable driving in mind. The engine bay is otherwise adorned with correct coatings, clamps, hardware and accessories and shows as correctly as one could hope for. A very well restored and cared for engine bay. Trunk Area Upon opening the trunk, onc can see the same quality as the interior and engine bay. It is clean and attention to detail from the restoration is apparent. Removing the fitted luggage reveals the proper trunk mat and finishes. With all of the tools, jack, spare and other accessories present in their factory positions. Underside The underside is indicative of a proper “body off” restoration. There is no component that was left untouched and the underside remains show quality down to replicated factory markings and correct hardware. Minor blemishes from careful use may be present but overall it is impressive. Notable Flaws The trunk light is not functioning at the moment and the stay where the prop rod goes has put a small scratch into the liner. As well as in the engine bay, the porcelain exhaust manifolds have started to show spider cracks as is typical with these cars. MECHANICALS Engine The engine starts easily, starts on choke and comes off as intended automatically. It holds strong oil pressure throughout the rev range and remains cool (though we have not used this car extensively). There are no abnormal noises, no smoke and the vehicle operates as intended as far as we have been able to test. Transmission The 4-speed Moss Box operates as well as designed with no issues noted. Brakes And Suspension The brakes work very well and are properly tuned with no pulling from side to side present and the suspension is firm but functioning correctly with no concerning noises present. Tires The tires are Vredestein Sprint Classic 185HR16’s 93H on all 5 wheels dated for 2019 and appear to be nearly new with limited use. DRIVING EXPERIENCE XK120’s offer Jaguar’s first post-war driving experience and the genesis to the XK and the later E-Type line of sports cars. This particular car does everything as expected of a show winner and was restored to win. However, while it does run and drive and benefits from a recent servicing this car is primed to be used while also retaining the qualifications to be shown. It feels good behind the wheel, but it also feels new, and we recommend that the next caretaker put some serious miles on this example to let it settle into a post-show routine of use and enjoyment. This is an impressive restoration that is now ready for spirited use. 1953 Jaguar XK120 FBI LBI Limited If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright This particular example, Chassis # 681234, is one of those 2,680 Fixed Head Coupes. • 1970 Alfa Romeo GT Junior Scalino

The Alfa Romeo GT 1600 Junior was introduced in 1972, to plug the gap between the GT 1300 Junior and the larger-engined 2000 GTV. The engine was substantially the same as that of the Giulia Sprint GTV discontinued four years previously, and had the same engine type number. The final drive ratio was again 9/41 as standard on all 105 Series coupés with the 1290 cc and 1570 cc engine. From 1974 on, the GT 1300 Junior and GT 1600 Junior were rationalised into a common range of models with the 2000 GTV and were rebadged as 1.3 GT Junior and 1.6 GT Junior, sharing most of the interior and exterior features with the larger-engined car. The GT Junior has a tight suspension and weighed in at just 930 kg for the 1.3 variant.Because of this, the car would often go onto three wheels, lifting the inside front wheel off the road when driven enthusiastically. Production ended in 1976-77 and totalled 91,964 units of 1.3 lt. Juniors and 13,120 units of the 1.6 lt. Juniors. According to Alfa Romeo Storico, our car chassis number AR 1250107 left the Factory 14/04/1970 to the Italian market, Agrigento in Sicily. He kept the car during more than 30 years, from 1974 to 1988. 2008 : the car was sold to Mr Mario di Giovanna (Class 1977), living in Agrigento. 2017 : the car left Sicily after nearly 50 years and came in a great Alfa collection, Fabio Gargioni, Parma. • 1969 Ferrari 365GT 2+2

One of Only 809 Queen Mothers Constructed from 1967-1971 Numbers Matching Mechanicals and Body # Stampings Pininfarina “137” Stamped Body Panels Documented Provenance by Historian Marcel Massini From 22 Years of Previous Ownership Supported by Original Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook, 1969/70 Spare Parts Catalog, All Blaupunkt New Yorker Manuals in Leather Ferrari Folio Complete with Tool Roll, Jack, Hammer and Emergency Tools in Pouch, Spare Tire and Emergency Triangle Coveted Front Engine V12 Ferrari, The Ultimate Period Grand Tourer At the time of its introduction, the 365 GT 2+2 represented significant advances for Ferrari, particularly their 2+2 models. The combination of independent suspension all around for the first time on a 2+2 model and the new torque tube arrangement made the cars quieter, more comfortable, and more capable than ever before. The inclusion of additional convenience and luxury features further enhanced the car's comfort, with standardized power steering and air conditioning. The familiar front-mounted 4.4 liter V12 and attractive Pininfarina styling ensured that the car retained all of the traditional positive Ferrari traits, and authentic Ferrari experience. In all, just 809 Queen Mothers were built, making these cars quite rare as well. 13161 comes from 22 years of previous ownership and presents as an ideal driver in an exceptional livery. Older paint is glossy, with imperfections in areas – see photos. Correct, polished 15x7.5” Borrani wire wheels complement with (x5) new and correct 215/70VR15 Michelin XWX tires (dated 2021). The interior is largely preserved, with supplemental calico Coco mats. Air conditioning and power windows are among the cabin features most revered with the Queen Mother. Other interior equipment includes 4-place seat belts and Blaupunkt radio. The engine compartment's appearance is generally correct and complete. The car's air conditioning blows cool, but not cold. Engine 13161 revs easily and runs with pep. The right bank slightly smokes at slow acceleration and warm idle. A refined grand tourer for any occasion, 13161 offers an abundance of classic Ferrari V12 rewards of similar Colombo-engined counterparts, along with an arguably more comfortable setting. • 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT

MODEL HISTORY The Ferrari Dino 246 was built to 3 different specifications through its production, referred to as the L, M and E series. The initial ‘L’ series cars were made from 1969 until 1970 and have a single centre knock-off wheel nut, front quarter bumpers that merge into the grill, and head rests mounted in the rear bulkhead. The ‘M’ series cars were built for only a short time in early 1971 and have 5 stud wheels, headrests mounted onto the seats themselves, and an internal boot release lever. The last ‘E’ series cars were similar to the ‘M’ cars but with a modified engine and gearbox. In 1972 a Targa-topped model was released and branded the “GTS”. Despite the smaller engine of the Ferrari Dino 246 compared to other Ferrari of the period, these little gems are no slouch. The 2.4-litre engine produces 195 bhp at 7,600rpm, and with a curb weight of 2,426 pounds makes these arguably one of Ferrari’s most agile cars. This is helped by near perfect weight distribution offering the performance and handling that has awed owners since new. THIS MOTOR CAR The Classic Motor Hub are proud to offer Dino ‘03906’ for immediate inspection. This is a 1972 ‘E’ series car that was fully restored by the Ferrari factory under instruction of the Jean Todt family. Originally sold in Bologna, Italy, the car was finished in Verde Pino before being later changed to Rosso with a Pella Nera interior. The car is in fabulous condition both inside and out and has covered less than 1000 miles since restoration. The car has its Classiche Certificate included in the file and is a beautiful example. 1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT The Classic Motor Hub If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. This matching-numbers Ferrari 330 GTC is a true time capsule—retained in single-family ownership from 1972 to 2025, a remarkable 53-year span. Accompanied by a Marcel Massini report, the car was delivered new in Argento (Argento 25090 A) over Nero Franzi with red carpets and remains a largely original, beautifully preserved example of one of Ferrari's most elegant and desirable V12 Grand Tourers. • 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB

With the arrival of the Dino 308 GT4, the 246 retired leaving a gap in the range. Indeed, following this departure, the Italian manufacturer no longer offered two-seater coupes with "small" engines. And it is not the 308 GT4 with four seats, designed by Bertone that was going to fill this gap. In short, Ferrari needed a solution, a small berlinette designed by Pininfarina, and quickly! The answer to this problem was brought in 1975 by the Ferrari 308 GTB which at the same time abandoned the Dino emblem to become a full-fledged Ferrari. Two cars were presented during the 1975 Paris Motor Show (a yellow one (Giallo Fly) at Pozzi and a blue one (Azzurro metalizzato) at Pininfarina), as Lauda had just won the Formula 1 title, and the berlinette with features inspired by the 365 GT4 BB was a great success. It must be said that the (shortened) base of the 308 GT4 was technically good, and that the 308 GTB brought to it all that was expected from a Ferrari. Namely a powerful and sexy style! It had a similar mechanical layout to the Bertone-signed 308 GT4, but was equipped with only two seats. The bodywork, beautifully designed by Pininfarina, took some visual cues from the fantastic Dino 246 GT. The rapid arrival of the first 308 GTB was also made possible by the use of polyester for the bodywork (except for the aluminum hood). At the time, this material, in addition to being mastered and light, allowed a faster production. For a brand in a hurry to present a new product, it was ideal. And what a line! Lurking on the ground with its small 1.10m high, it has a cut as sultry as typical of its time. The front end is short, ready to devour the ground, with pop-up headlights and air vents, it doesn't get much more seventies! The profile is well balanced and very dynamic. It is helped by the homogeneity of the overhangs, the inclination of the front part, the obliquely truncated rear, the two big air intakes, or the black border underlining the body line in the shape of waves while breaking the volumes. However, only the first 808 examples called Ferrari 308 GTB "Vetroresina" were equipped with this polyester shell manufactured by Scaglietti. In June 1977, with the arrival of the GTS (Scoperta) convertible version, the 308s switched to a steel body, 150 kilos heavier. The V8 engine has nothing minor except its modest displacement of 2.9 liters. On the contrary, the "Tipo F106" is probably one of the major engines of the brand. Depending on its evolution, you will find it under the hood of all the normal V8 cars of the manufacturer (up to the 360 Modena), but also of the 288 GTO, the F40 etc. In short, this 90° V8 with flat crankshaft is a heavyweight! 16 valves, double overhead camshafts, dry sump, four Weber 40 DCNF carburetors, it's a racing gear! And of course, the output is excellent for the time with 87 hp/L, that is to say a total of 255 hp obtained at 7700 rpm. That said, these figures could lead one to fear a cruel lack of flexibility at low revs, but this is not the case thanks to the 284 Nm developed at 5000 rpm. Right from the start, the 308 GTB (B for Berlinetta) is a sensation. It is totally integrated in the Ferrari stylistic unit of the time while appearing even more balanced than the BB. Thanks to its polyester bodywork, it remained light (1090 kg) while offering high-level performance: 247 km/h, 1,000 m from a standing start in 25.4 seconds, and 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds. The Porsche 911 is kept at distance. A fiberglass car can be differentiated thanks to a few details: it has a small attachment at the top of the windshield pillar, where it touches the roof. Other differences for the European version: the space for the rear license plate is plain, while the steel cars have a hollow there. The reverse lights are located in the bumper, while on the steel cars, they are located in the center of the turn signals. Given that the 308 GTB was never officially intended by the Ferrari factory to become a race car, it did end up with a quite significant competition career. Not so much on race tracks, but more impressively on rally stages. Apart from the famous Michelotto built Group 4 and Group B cars, a lot of privateers have modified 308s to use them in competition with the success we know! Our car is one of the first 308 Vetroresina: the most sought after. Produced in April 1976, #19189 left Maranello in an elegant "Blu Scuro" livery and a "Pelle beige" interior, equipped with optional air conditioning, spoiler and electric windows. It started its life in Italy, initially delivered in Bari to Mr. Andrea Andone with the registration number "TE20600". The car stayed in Italy with 3 known owners until 2014 when it was sold and exported to Germany. The new owner then began a complete 3 year restoration to bring the car back to its former glory. The result is still visible today: it looks like it just came out of the factory! No expense was spared and the heavy file of photos and invoices shows incredible attention to detail. The result of this work culminated in the issuance of the "Classiche Certificate" by Ferrari. In 2019, our 308 joined the private collection of a car enthusiast alongside other Italian gems. Offered with an impressive folder of photos and invoices, its Ferrari Classiche Red Book, and retaining its tools, accessories and delivery manuals, this is a very rare opportunity to purchase what is probably one of the most iconic Ferraris of the late 1970s! 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Historic Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright With the arrival of the Dino 308 GT4, the 246 retired leaving a gap in the range. As Michele Alboreto stepped away from Formula 1 at the end of the 1994 season, the Milanese driver ended a 14-year career in the topflight, which included five seasons racing for Ferrari. In 1985, Alboreto had pushed for Ferrari’s first Drivers’ title since 1979, yet eventually settled for 2nd place in his stand-out season for the Scuderia. In life after F1 he raced for Schübel Engineering in the DTM and International Touring Car Championship, further to entries in IndyCar and the World Sportscar Championship—some of which from behind the wheel of a Ferrari, upholding his connection with the Maranello marque. On 8 August 1995, Alboreto took delivery of the Ferrari F355 Berlinetta offered here, which was supplied by Parisian dealer Charles Pozzi SA while the driver was living in Monaco. The sleek coupé was built in Nero Carbonio over a Beige leather interior—the colour combination it still shows today—while the Ferrari also retains its matching-numbers Tipo F129 engine. Accompanied by its Ferrari books and manuals, showing main dealer servicing on selected years, the F355 was most recently serviced by Scuderia Baldini in August 2024, and one month later the workshop fitted four Bridgestone Potenza tyres. Having been awarded Ferrari Classiche certification in December 2024, the car is offered with its “Red Book”. Offered with the provenance of a famous Ferrari F1 driver as its first owner, Scuderia fans should not miss the opportunity to bid on this Classiche-certified F355 Berlinetta. 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. • 1973 Jensen Interceptor MK3

The story behind this collectible... "The only car that makes your mustache grow faster." - Jeremy Clarkson The Jensen Interceptor, a hand-built GT car from the Kelvin Way factory near Birmingham, a name with history, with previous incarnations dating back to the 1950s, is best known for its extraordinary coolness. What sets this car, the MKIII, apart is the evolution of materials. Jensen had long relied on fiberglass-reinforced plastic, resulting in cars that were nearly impossible to restore. However, the Interceptor marked a return to a steel body, designed by Italy's Carrozzeria Touring. About the same as a shot of limoncello next to the Beef Wellington! The Mark III, introduced in 1971, brought subtle modifications to the front end, headlights and bumpers. This version came standard with GKN alloy wheels and air conditioning, as well as revised seating. The production year determined whether you got a G-, H-, or J-series. In 1971, the 7.2-liter 440 ci engine replaced the 6.3-liter 383 ci engine. This is the 7.2-liter variant, and you can actually think of it as a British gentleman suddenly transformed into an American dandy. A tweed jacket and a huge mustache and a penchant for burgers. Our "Gentleman's Express" has recently received a careful dose of TLC, with rebuilt brakes and front suspension, and a new radiator. The car has been treated with great care to maintain the luster of rust-free perfection. Originally delivered in Paris, with the accompanying particularly cool yellow headlights, this example is in very clean condition. • 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona

The world-famous Daytona name was unofficially conjured up by the press in recognition of the firms stunning 1-2-3 victory at 1967's Daytona 24 Hours and - the fact that it was the last front-engined Ferrari GT before the Fiat years also means it occupies a special place in Maranello history. The Daytona was a stopgap model between Ferrari's outgoing 275 GTB/4 and their mid-engined 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer, the development of which was running well behind schedule. Influenced by the fact they were beginning to suffer a number of financial problems, Ferrari decided to produce what was essentially an updated version of an existing model. However, despite the troubled background to its inception, Daytona's themselves were in no way affected. Ferrari produced what became the definitive GT of its time. The Daytona's motor is essentially an enlarged Tipo 226 60° V12 from the previous 275 GTB/4 and is designated Tipo 251. They have a displacement of 4.4-litres producing 352bhp at 7500rpm. At the time the Daytona became the world's fastest production car with a top speed of 175mph and 0-60 in 5.3 seconds - enough to eclipse every other manufacturer, even Lamborghini. Pininfarina designed the Daytona's bodywork exuding power from every angle. As a result the Daytona remains one of the most jaw-dropping GT's to this day. The 365 GTB/4 was launched during October 1968's Paris Salon and won enormous praise. It was the fastest production road car available and would be the last of Ferrari's front-engined GT's, a fact not lost on writers at the time. Relatively few official options were available, just wider Cromodora alloys, spoked Borrani wires, front bumper bars and air conditioning having been on the upgrade list. After two years Pininfarina carried out a front-end make-over resulting in retractable headlights in early-1971. As production went on, Ferrari made changes to the indicator lenses, later cars more often than not coming with exclusively orange items whereas earlier examples tended to get combination lenses. There was also a switch from aluminium to steel doors (these providing a little more side impact protection) and the arrival of a smaller-diameter leather-rimmed steering wheel. Production ceased in late 1973 to make way for the overdue mid-Flat-12-engined 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer. By this time, Ferrari had completed 1,284 GTB/4's, 158 of which were right-hand drive and came to the UK. With the USA accounting for such a large proportion of Ferrari sales by the end of the 1960s, it was inevitable that technicalities of federal law would play such a big part of how the Daytona looked. The early, ‘euro-specification’ examples featured the same sealed-beam headlight units that were required by U.S. legislation, hidden behind an elegant but sloped wraparound band of plexiglass. No prizes for guessing where the early cars found their nickname. Elegant, sporting and remarkably modern, the Daytona was the first Ferrari to see the integration of the headlights into the body. Unfortunately for Ferrari, U.S. legislation meant this was no-go. Fearful of impeding light travel, the law stipulated nothing be placed in front of the sealed-beam light units on a production car. As such, as the first Daytonas landed on the US shores, the nose was redesigned to incorporate the more traditional pop-up units. This example was supplied new to Austrian dealership Wolfgang Denzel of Vienna in 1970. Originally presented in Giallo Fly over Nero VM 8500, the Daytona would remain in Austria with its first keeper until 1974. At the time of purchase by Swede Anders Johnson, the car had been repainted in black with gold highlights in a livery particularly reminiscent of the John Player Special Lotus Formula 1 livery of the same year. The Daytona was refinished in Giallo and lightly fettled for competition use. Custodian Johnson would actively compete in the Daytona in road rallies in Sweden and extending into Europe for 20 years. The Daytona was subsequently sent to Johan Helenius of notable marque experts and restorers, Competition Motors. The restoration commenced and the Daytona was stripped to bare metal. Funds were short and the restoration progressed very slowly, changing hands in 2018 in a still uncompleted state to the current owner in Norway. The Daytona moved to Norway for the works to continue, but plans changed and the Daytona remained in a stripped state for four further year. Arriving at DK in 2022, the Daytona had been previously prepared for paint. We returned the car to its bare metal state with the original yellow remaining visible on the inside of the doors. At this time, the current owner decided to complete the restoration in Blu Dino, whilst retaining the Nero interior leather trim. From its arrival, DK Engineering have handled the reassembly and completion of the Daytona. With the car apart we turned our heads to the mechanical side. Whilst much of this work had been carried out previously, the owner was keen to have inspected again to ensure it was in good order before assembly began. As such, a top-end engine rebuild was carried out as well as a corrections to assembly of the rear differential. With the engine reinstalled, the original interior was refitted, ensuring the Daytona interior still cossets the drive as expected. As a late build 'plexi', this example received the later, smaller diameter steering wheel but retained the earlier seats without fitted headrests making for a much more inviting interior. The works were completed in November 2024. One of roughly 411 Plexiglass-nosed examples completed, this example presents on the button, fresh from restoration and ready for its next custodian. Presented in the period shade of Blu Dino, this wonderful 'matching numbers' Daytona is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately. 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona D.K. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright The world-famous Daytona name was unofficially conjured up by the press in recognition of the firms stunning 1-2-3 victory at 1967's Daytona 24 Hours and - the fact that it was the last front-engined Ferrari GT before the Fiat years also means it occupies a special place in Maranello history.
