- 1973 Ferrari 365 GTC/4
One of the rarest Ferrari models ever produced, particularly in right-hand drive, the 365 GTC/4 was developed to meet the ever-growing demand among Ferrari's clientele for high-performance Grand Tourers with space for four passengers. It was introduced in March 1971 to replace the 365 GTC, which had been phased out two years earlier. The chassis of the 365 GTC/4 was essentially that of the 365 GTB Daytona, albeit stretched an additional 100 millimetres for extra cabin room, and Pininfarina's newly introduced wind tunnel obviously played a part in the car's sinuous and streamlined shape with no panels shared with other models in the range. The bodywork was steel with aluminium doors and motivation was courtesy of the Daytona's 4.4-litre DOHC V12, slightly softened to produce 340bhp, and fuelled by side-draft, twin-choke Webers allowing a lower bonnet line. Weight distribution was almost perfect at 51:49 thanks to the five-speed gearbox and alloy bell-housing being set well back in the chassis. Around 500 examples were built over an eighteen-month period and, according to online sources, some 41 365 GTC/4s were produced in right-hand drive, with only 31 of those being destined for British shores. 1973 Ferrari 365 GTC/4 Iconic Auctioneers Ltd If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1967-ferrari-330-gtc-by-pininfarina-02
Unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Salon, the Ferrari 330 GTC offered a masterful blend of comfort and performance, capturing the best qualities of both the luxurious 330 GT 2+2 and the competition-inspired 275 GTB. Designed and assembled by Pininfarina in Turin before receiving its mechanical components at Ferrari’s facility in Maranello, the GTC shared the 275 GTB’s steering, suspension, and five-speed transaxle. Its wheelbase, 10 inches shorter than the 330 GT 2+2, provided agility and a notably dynamic driving character that set it apart from other mid-century touring models. Headlining the car’s credentials was its 4.0-liter Colombo V-12 engine, producing 300 horsepower and endowing it with remarkable performance for such a sophisticated grand tourer, reaching 60 mph from a standstill in under seven seconds on its way to a 150-mph top speed. Stylistically, the 330 GTC reflected Pininfarina’s clean, balanced design language. Its forward section echoed the exclusive 500 Superfast with a slim ovoid grille, recessed headlights, and triple-louvered engine-bay vents, while the tail—borrowed from the 275 GTS—added visual lightness, complemented by slim quarter bumpers. Inside, the rear seats were replaced with a practical luggage shelf while exceptionally thin A- and B-pillars created an airy cabin with outstanding visibility all around. The 330 GTC offered here—chassis 9595—completed production on 6 March 1967, with subsequent mechanical fine-tuning carried out by Ferrari’s Assistenza Clienti department at Viale Trento Trieste in Modena. Originally earmarked for export to Switzerland as a left-hand-drive European specification with kilometer-calibrated instruments, the car left the factory presented as it is today in Azzurro (20336 A) over Nero Franzi trim. Ultimately, the car remained in its native Italy, being sold new to a Milanese gentleman before being exported to the United States in 1973 by Milan-based dealer Dino Armando Genghini. Following its arrival stateside, chassis 9595 was sold in September 1973 to a Denver, Colorado, resident who retained it for approximately a year before it passed to an enthusiast in Phoenix, Arizona. After its tenure in the Southwest, the Ferrari came under the ownership of acclaimed civic architect Robert “Bob” Frasca. A founding design partner of the Portland, Oregon-based Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects, one of the world’s premier architectural firms, Frasca played a critical role in the evolution of Portland as one of America’s most livable cities and was instrumental in shaping its skyline. He designed many of the Rose City’s most important civic projects, including Waterfront Park, the Multnomah County Justice Center, the Oregon Convention Center, and the Portland International Airport. Frasca would cherish chassis 9595 for nearly three decades, with numerous invoices on file attesting to the car’s maintenance under his care. The legendary architect parted with the Ferrari in 2014 before it was subsequently acquired by the consignor who promptly commissioned an extensive, nearly $47,000 mechanical overhaul by Dino Motors of San Rafael, California. Invoices on file reflect a meticulous rebuild of the numbers-matching engine, new hoses, clutch adjustment, electrical sorting, a fresh wood dashboard, and a host of additional fine mechanical corrections. Further work followed in 2018, when 9595 returned to Dino Motors for continued attention, including a rebuild of its triple Weber carburetors. The car is accompanied by a set of Campagnolo alloy wheels, a service file, and an assortment of owner’s books with leather pouch. Supremely glamorous and consistently admired, this cherished 330 GTC exemplifies the elegance and balance of Ferrari’s mid-century grand touring cars, an example certain to delight its next custodian for years to come. 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC by Pininfarina RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Unveiled at the 1966 Geneva Salon, the Ferrari 330 GTC offered a masterful blend of comfort and performance, capturing the best qualities of both the luxurious 330 GT 2+2 and the competition-inspired 275 GTB. - 1965 Alfa Romeo GTA
The 1963 sports season had shown the overwhelming domination of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Super, both in the newly created European Touring Challenge and in all the other competitions reserved for touring cars derived from production cars. In the following year, many competing manufacturers, thanks to an optimistic interpretation of the regulations, entered cars with very few production components, if not only one symbolic element, the shape of the bodywork. This was the case, for example, with the Ford Cortina Lotus, on which Ford had simply transplanted the entire mechanical basis of the Lotus, clad in a body whose lines resembled those of the Cortina saloon. In order to maintain its supremacy in the face of this 'unfair' competition from Ford, BMW and many others on the European circuits, Alfa Romeo decided to employ the company Autodelta, then headed by the engineer Carlo Chiti. The solution proposed by Chiti was the creation of a new car based on the Giulia Sprint GT, but retaining the body structure and, of course, its aesthetics. The mechanical part was reworked to gain in power and the bodywork was made of Peraluman 25, in order to lighten the whole as much as possible. The only constraint of the regulations was to keep the rear seat legroom identical to that of the production car. The Giulia GTA was two centimetres short of this requirement if the same production seats as in the Giulia GT were used. Alfa Romeo replaced these seats with a single bench seat, which allowed it to be homologated, on the production model, the seats were a free option.Chiti's idea was approved by Alfa Romeo's general management and Autodelta began transforming the prototypes without delay in the last months of 1964. The Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerita, or "light grand tourer") was presented at the Amsterdam Motor Show on 18 February 1965, with a weight of 745 kg (compared to the 950 kg of the Giulia Sprint GT) and an engine developing 115 HP. The modifications made by the engineer Carlo Chiti included a reduction in weight thanks to the use of Paraluman 25 panels, which saved almost 200 kg, the replacement of the windows with Plexiglas, the adoption of a new rear suspension that lowered the centre of gravity, the 1,570 cc engine with dual ignition and larger carburettors giving it 115bhp at 6,000rpm, and a maximum torque of 142N⋅m at 3,000rpm for a top speed of 185km/h. In addition, it gets a Marelli distributor from the Ferrari Dino, the two Weber carburettors increase to 45mm instead of 40mm. The camshafts were made of magnesium, as was the timing cover and crankcase. The gear ratios were narrower than standard and the gears were machined for lighter weight and faster gear changes. It had bumpers and was slightly less stripped than the Autodelta version In the competition-prepared versions, power could reach 170 bhp with a further 45 kg weight reduction thanks to the removal of the bumpers, seats and sliding windows. Of the 500 or so Giulia GTAs produced between 1965 and 1969, very few remain today in the road version created mainly to obtain Group 2 homologation. Almost all of them passed through the hands of Autodelta or renowned tuners who, with the "twin shaft" engine, managed to achieve almost 170 bhp at 7,800 rpm for a top speed of over 220 km/h. Its first race participation dates to the Trento-Bondone hill climb in 1965, where it easily won its class. Thanks to this in-depth work, the new Autodelta car won a multitude of races and became one of the most successful Alfa cars ever. In 1966 alone, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA, driven by official and private drivers, won over 200 races. The Giulia GTA became the "killer" on the circuits and in hill-climbing races, unbeatable in its class! With its countless successes, it soon won its first victories in national championships and even in the United States and South America. Andrea de Adamich (in 1966 and 1967) and Spartaco Dini (in 1969) won the European Touring Car Challenge three times, while Ignazio Giunti won the European Hill Climb Championship in 1967. It won the Deutsche Automobil Rundstrecken Meisterschaft three times, in 1966, 1967 and 1968 with Herbert Schultze Our Alfa Romeo GTA #613369 started its life in the Jura where it was delivered on 19/06/1965 to Mr Monneret who kept it until 1970 when it was sold to a French amateur. In 1972, the car was still in the Jura and will please its new owner, Mr Jeunet, before joining the Cuynet Garage collection in 1975, where the car remained until 1998. This is when it passed into the hands of Mr Rougemont. who restored the car to race it fot the europeen Tourism championschip. The car was regularly entered in several national rallies by Mr Rougemont, then in 2005 in the collection of Christian Lallarderie and finally in 2012 with Gregory Ramouna who will continue to race the car. It then passed into the hands of its current owner. After a few races it is decided to give back to this GTA all its letters of nobility. Tired of its racing past, a complete restoration of the car was undertaken. The work was carried out by the famous Alfa Nielman Racing garage with an incredible attention to details. The result is a perfectly new, compliant and competitive car. With its FIA HTP, it is the ideal tool for the major rally events such as the Tour Auto or the Modena Cento Ore, in which it has already participated. 1965 Alfa Romeo GTA Historic Cars If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1978-ferrari-308-gts
The 1970s were a turbulent period in Maranello. Ferrari had to respond to emerging competition from Lamborghini (with the Countach) and Porsche (with the 911 Turbo). The days of big V12s gave way to more compact, V8-powered sports cars. Ferrari had to come up with an answer, and what an answer it was: the Ferrari 308 GTS. At the Cool Classic Club, we have an exceptional example in our Clubhouse: a 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS originally delivered to the United States. This example underwent a complete Nut & Bolt restoration. This car has been rebuilt down to the smallest details, with both the technology carefully overhauled. Since the car found its way to the Netherlands, a dedicated owner was ready to welcome her with open arms. A restoration project of this caliber requires craftsmanship, which is why the car was completely rebuilt by specialists. In 2024, the car was registered in the Netherlands. After the first drive-in miles, the final refinements and improvements were made, so the teething problems are out of the way and this Ferrari is now an absolute winner. Are you ready to shift the dog-leg gearbox from two to three with agility, while the roaring V8 behind you breaks loose and delivers a punch in the back? This is pure authentic driving pleasure. - 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO 3
THE GTO RETURNS By 1984, the words “Gran Turismo Omologata” carried enormous weight in the Ferrari world. Since 1962, the 250 GTO had been considered the finest sports racer that Ferrari had ever produced. With an astonishing racing record—rivalled only by its sensational driving dynamics—the GTO was cemented into sports car lore as nothing short of a legend. For Ferrari to revive such a legendary moniker, any new GTO would be expected to match or surpass the 250’s incredible record in motorsport. Seeking to contend in the notorious FIA Group B, Ferrari developed and produced the GTO to homologate the model for competition within that series; this called for a production run of 200 cars. Group B was incredibly popular following its introduction in the 1980s, especially in Europe, and Ferrari was eager to jump into the fray—and Maranello was certain that its car would be unmatched in competition. However, Group B was canceled shortly thereafter, leaving the factory with a fully developed and homologated car but no series in which to compete. It was clear that the public was eager to experience Ferrari’s newest no-compromises supercar, and the GTO was certainly not going to disappoint the brand’s fans or customers—even without a spot on the grid. While it shared visual cues with the 308 and 328, there was no denying that the 288 GTO (as it was later dubbed) was more special than its siblings. Visually it held a more aggressive stance, with composite and Kevlar forming the majority of the bodywork. The doors and deck lid were formed from lightweight aluminum, with an imposing shape that hinted at its prodigious performance. The race-bred 2.8-liter V-8 engine with its twin IHI turbochargers pumped out a monstrous 400 horsepower and 366 pound-feet of torque. The 288 GTO could rocket to a top speed of 189 mph, making it the fastest road car ever produced at the time of its unveiling. Its acceleration was equally impressive, and the car could reach 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds and 100 mph in 10.2—fast enough to keep everything short of a fighter jet in its rearview mirror. Performance aside, the GTO’s interior was graced with a host of modern amenities. The Kevlar-framed bucket seats were lined in leather, and buyers could request air conditioning, electric windows, and an AM/FM radio/cassette stereo as optional extras. Other than those few comforts, the GTO offered nothing to distract the driver from the task at hand. The new GTO clearly resonated with Ferrari’s clientele, as 272 examples were built by the time production ceased (which was over 25 per cent more than the amount required for FIA Group B homologation). The GTO was the first in the lineage of modern Ferrari supercars, and it remains incredibly rare, seldom seen on the road and even less frequently offered for public sale. CHASSIS NUMBER 56773 The example on offer, chassis 56773, is one of the 272 Ferrari 288 GTOs built from 1984 to 1985. It left the factory on 3 May 1985, finished in Rosso Corsa, with the cabin upholstered in black leather; its “Daytona”-style seats featured optional red cloth inserts. Destined for the United States, chassis 56773 was equipped with air-conditioning and power windows but without a radio, a nod to the racing DNA of the model. Following the federalization process carried out by the North American Ferrari agent, the car successfully arrived in Illinois at the supplying dealer, Lake Forest Sportscars. There, this 288 GTO was sold new to its first owner, Donald Schaff, who resided in Florida. Per the accompanying Ferrari Warranty Card, Mr. Schaff took delivery of his new car on 10 June 1985. Chassis 56773 led a quiet early life and by August 1991 was offered for sale by Walnut Creek Ferrari in California, where the odometer reading was noted as 3,388 km. By 1993 chassis 56773 had changed hands and is mentioned by the Ferrari expert Marcel Massini in his report as being sold in April to Cavallino Imports of Dixie Hills, New York. This 288 GTO then entered the possession of the third owner, Mr. Dennis Farrey of Dani Investments in San Carlos, California sometime in 1996. Farrey retained chassis 56773 for four years, before offering the car for sale in the Ferrari Market Letter on 8 April 2000, stating the odometer reading was 4,517 km. The car was subsequently sold to the fourth owner in 2001. Under this ownership the car experienced regular service attention with corresponding mileage documentation. Detailed invoices are available on file, with a major service completed on 31 July 2020. More than $18,000 was spent at Continental Auto Sports in Hinsdale, Illinois as all the fluids were drained and replaced, while at the same time, a cambelt service was carried out, and a new water pump and spark plugs installed. The final task completed was having a set of four new Pirelli P Zero tires mounted to the wheels, with the invoice noting that chassis 56773 had covered 7,815 km at the point of service. Chassis 56773’s most recent service took place at Continental Auto Sports on 31 January 2022, comprising an oil and brake fluid change and replacement of the oil pressure gauge sensor. Importantly, at this time 56773 has earned its Ferrari Classiche certification, confirming it to be a full matching-numbers example, speaking to its well-preserved and factory-correct state. During the car’s original federalization, the speedometer face was converted to display in miles, however, the odometer calibration remained in kilometers. As a required component of the Classiche Certification process, a speedometer unit with the correct kilometer-indicating face was sourced and fitted; as noted on the 22 August 2022 Continental Auto Sports invoice on file. Displaying just 7,989 km (~4,965 miles) at the time of cataloguing, this 1985 288 GTO represents an extremely rare and exciting opportunity to acquire a premium example of one of Ferrari’s most desirable road cars. Rarely does the chance to obtain such a fine example of a North American delivered 288 GTO avail. Covering all desired attributes, including Ferrari Classiche certification, well-documented provenance, regular no-expense-spared service history, along with original books and tool kit, 56773 is without doubt one of the finest offerings of a Ferrari 288 GTO in recent times. 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
