Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0

Upon Audi AG’s takeover of Lamborghini in 1998, Luc Donckerwolke was put in charge of bringing the flagging Diablo model up to date. Donckerwolke came with an impressive resume – he’d been Head of Design at Lamborghini, as well as part of the design team behind the wildly successful Audi R8 Le Mans Prototype.

Compared to its elder siblings, the Diablo VT 6.0 was a complete revolution. It featured an almost entirely carbon fibre body, a 6.0 litre V12 DOHC engine, an upgraded chassis, wider tracks for cornering, and a new and improved exhaust.

It wasn’t only performance metrics that were overhauled either. The Diablo VT 6.0 came with a redesigned interior and a new air conditioning system – ensuring driving comfort as well as thrills.
