1968 Iso Grifo - GL Series I

The intention of the Iso Rivolta, in launching the "Grifo" project, was to create a car that was a middle ground between the huge American coupes and the streamlined European sports berlinette, managing to concentrate, without too many sacrifices or excesses, the comfort and reliability of one, with the elegance and performance of the other. The difficult job was entrusted, for the technical part, to Giotto Bizzarrini, a famous designer and former consultant for Alfa Romeo and Ferrari, supported by Giorgetto Giugiaro (working for Bertone) for the aesthetic part. The new model was ready in a few months, as it was decided to proceed by shortening the chassis of the "GT", also designed by Bizzarrini, and was presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1963, under the name "A 3 L Grifo" .
