Removable hardtop 15” Chrome Knock on Wire Wheels Weather gear including Mohair hood, Mohair Tonneau cover and Perspex side screens. Following its creation in 1961, the AC Cobra quickly developed a large following due to its signature look, V8 power and soundtrack and race track success. This has only grown in the six decades since, however their rarity and rising value has meant that fewer are seen on the road. In an effort to allow fans of the original to experience such a special piece of automotive history, a number of companies began to build recreations of the car using a similar chassis and drivetrain to the original. These cars have become sought after due to offering many of the thrills of the 60s original but at a lower entry point to the market. Hawk, a British company have gained a trusted reputation for building accurate and reliable recreations to the highest standard and for a variety of uses from FIA compliant race cars to the roadgoing example seen here. This AC Cobra 289 evocation by Hawk here for sale at Autostorico is a 2002 Registered example. This outstanding example is powered by a 3.5 Litre V8 with an Edelbrook carburettor and Pan air filter. Completed in Black paint with complimenting black leather interior, this 4 owner car is presented in wonderful condition having just been machine polished and ceramic coated. Specification highlights include removable hard top, full wet weather gear including a Tonneau cover, side screens and hood. A five speed gearbox is fitted along with Hawk’s tubular design coil over front suspension with telescopic dampers. The interior is complemented by period Smiths dials, waist harnesses and period fire extinguisher. Demonstrating fantastic craftmanship and accuracy to the original, this car has to be seen to be fully appreciated. Offered for sale with a current V5 registration document, a history file including an original build manual, numerous invoices and other related material.
