Cambelt change in 2022. Switchgear re-furbished. The Ferrari F355 Berlinetta was introduced in May 1994, as a direct replacement for the Ferrari 348. Initially it was only available with the more desirable 6 speed manual transmission. The emphasis behind the Pininfarina designed F355 was to improve performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments including lower city speeds. Built around a steel monocoque with tubular steel rear sub-frame. The 355 offered fully independent front and rear suspension with coil springs over gas-filled telescopic shock absorbers, electronic control servos and anti-roll bars. Aerodynamic design for the car included over 1,300 hours of wind tunnel analysis. The car incorporates a “Nolder” profile on the upper portion of the tail, and fairing on the underbody that generates negative lift when the car is at speed. Apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litre, the major difference between the V8 engine in the F348 and F355 is the introduction of a 5-valve per cylinder head, hence the name F355 – 3.5l and 5 valves per cylinder. This new head design allowed for better air intake and resulted in a more powerful engine producing 370bhp at 8,250rpm, this resulted in a 0-60 mph of just 4.6 secs and onto a top speed of 183mph. As with all Ferrari’s only the best materials available at the time were used in their no expense sparred production. The Ferrari F355 F1 GTS offered here at Autostorico was supplied new in March 1999 by Mortimer Houghton Turner Ltd Ferrari. Finished in Tour de France Blue with Tan leather, this stunning four owner example has covered a mere 15,420 miles. Boasting a comprehensive service history have last been carried out by GTO Engineering Ltd at 15,143 miles. Specification highlights including Black brake callipers, Climate control, Original Ferrari tool and Tyre kit, 18” Alloy wheels, Ferrari shields and floor mats.l
