This superb example of the iconic R129 generation Mercedes SL500 was supplied new on 10th March 1995 by main agents Alan Day Ltd and finished in desirable Azurite Blue Metallic coachwork with mushroom hide and navy hood with hard top The extensive historical records show the SL was sold twice by MB agents Alan Day, supplied new by them in March 1995 and then sold again in 1999 as a used approved car at 40,000 miles (invoice on file) and regularly maintained from new to 2003 by Alan Day as evidenced within the history The SL has an impressive service history which shows almost all Mercedes main agent services plus one or two respected specialists over the course of its 86,000 miles covered to date, all services outlined at the bottom of the description The convertible roof was replaced by specialists SL Shop in August 2015 at 75,257 miles and was also serviced by them at that time. In November 2017 a Clifford Alarm system and DAB/Bluetooth radio system was fitted (the original radio unit was retained with the car) and in July 2018 the front shock absorbers were replaced at 78,000 miles The Achilles heel of this generation of SL is the wiring loom and the important job of replacing it was undertaken by specialists R129 Co in May 2019 at 81,000 miles along with replacement roof lock cylinders and throttle rewire and refurbish with relevant gaskets etc More recent works include a rear axle driveshaft replacement in April 2023 and service and health check by Mercedes Bromley in August 2023 at 86,050 miles as well as two new rear tires in February 2024 This cherished SL comes with an outstanding, fully documented history and has clearly been loved throughout its life. Supplied with original tool roll, extensive service history, book pack and service book, original radio and hard top. The SL500 is a great driving and well presented example and offers tremendous value for money today
