The Porsche 959 represents a new era of "super sports cars". Its 2.8-liter twin-turbo engine is closely related to the powerplant found in the 962C, a race car that has won many titles on the track. The staged twin-turbocharging enables the car to accelerate quickly even at low revs. The 959 is equipped with modern technology such as an electronically controlled four-wheel-drive system with ABS, four pre-programmable shock absorber settings, and speed-dependent ride control. The chassis and body are made of innovative materials using advanced manufacturing technologies. The "Sport" version, which is limited to only 29 units, is 100 kilograms lighter than the "Komfort" version. The engine of the "Sport" version has modified turbochargers, increased boost pressure, and adjusted ignition and fuel injection, which gives it an additional 65 horsepower over the "Komfort" model, for a total of 508 horsepower. According to a test conducted by the specialist magazine "Auto, motor & sport", the 959 S achieved a top speed of 339 km/h. Between 1986 and 1988, Porsche delivered 292 units of the 959 "Komfort" and "Sport" to customers, with 337 cars being built, including prototypes and pre-production models. "the 959 is a technological milestone, likely to be remembered as the greatest sports car of the ’80s"…Car Magazine "the word "perfect" is difficult to avoid"… Car & Driver Chassis 014 The 959 presented here today is one of the 29 "S" or Sport models. Offered publicly for the first time in over 10 years, chassis 014 must be one of the lowest-mileage 959S' in existence. Originally sold to a single owner in California before joining its current U.S. Collection where it has resided since 2013 alongside some of the finest collector cars in the world. Today, chassis 014 shows just 516 original miles and remains in incredibly well-preserved condition. The Porsche 959 stands as a monument to Porsche's relentless pursuit of perfection. It is an embodiment of speed, innovation, and exclusivity. This is not just a chance to own a car; it's the opportunity to possess a piece of history, a testament to the pinnacle of automotive achievement. We invite you to seize this unparalleled opportunity to become part of a legacy that will continue to inspire and astonish for generations to come.
