The Mercedes-Benz SL R107 is a 2-seat convertible produced from 1971 through to 1989. In 1980, the SL received a facelift. Although the styling remained pretty much untouched, there were a raft of technical changes to reflect the new technology that had been introduced in the 1979 S-Class sister car. Produced with several engine options including the 280 2,746cc straight six which produced an impressive 182bhp. This propelled the car to a top speed of 129 mph. The Mercedes-Benz SL280 offered here at Autostorico was first registered on 29thSeptember 1983 and is finished Classic White with Blue leather interior trim. Having covered 78,372 miles this stunning example has been subject to a no expense spared restoration. Works included removing the engine, gearbox and stripping the whole body, before a bare metal respray. The car was also subject to a full mechanical overhaul. New interior trim including door cards, carpets and soft top complete this exceptional example. Supplied with a current V5 registration document, MOT certificates, original service booklet and other related invoices.
