Finding a Pagoda equipped with the optional 5 speed ZF gearbox from new is exceedingly rare, - most probably only 100 examples of the 230 SL were thus delivered. Our example in “Oriental red” with a beige leather interior was delivered in Switzerland and 1st registered in May 1966. Still with its matching-numbers engine, the Mercedes is in technically good condition and recently a new exhaust has been fitted. Restored most probably some years ago, the interior is in very good condition. The coachwork presents itself in good condition, but the paint could use a bit of TLC. We now offer a rare chance to acquire a very rare Pagoda with a 5-speed manual gearbox and seating for three. Certainly a car which will make a worthy addition to any Mercedes collection. The last Veteran MOT was completed in May 2016. For a Swiss buyer, the SL will be MOT’d after the sale.
