- 1967 Ferrari 330 GT Series II
One of the most exciting life stories of an exceptional car like the Ferrari 330 GT Series II is so exciting and entertaining to read that you won't want to put this classic down. Packed in three bulging folders and a book with a photographic history of the entire, almost 60-year life, this is the ideal reading material for the motorist for an entire weekend! What has happened so far sounds promising and inevitably leads to the realization - this wonderfully beautiful GT wants to be driven, cared for and looked after for many more decades. In January 1967, Franco B. from Milan decided to buy the Ferrari 330 GT presented to him, in order to take it over in March 1967, registered and with a full tank. (You may be wondering how we know about the full tank? Well, because it was agreed with the dealer and the original purchase contract and order are available. We are assuming that the dealer who delivered the car was not stingy with the purchase price of many millions of lire and kept his agreement) Signore Franco B. (first owner) is after a new car 8 years later (1975), which is why our protagonist is handed over to his second owner, Dr. Rodolfo Z. He is not only a Ferraristi, but also the president of the automobile club in his region in Udine/Friuli and also lives in Luxembourg, where the Ferrari was registered in 1975 and driven regularly. Judging by the documents and historical records, he is almost a “daily driver”! After all, it was driven until it reached a mileage of around 149,000 km, before finally falling into a deep sleep in its owner's garage in 1982, which only ended after the death of Mr. Dottore Rodolfo Z. in 2010 - his widow revealed one of Luxembourg's best-kept secrets and decided to sell her late husband's Ferrari. This great event for a Ferrari and a Ferraristi was published in words and pictures as the cover story of a well-known specialist magazine and made the 330 GT a minor celebrity as one of the few examples in the world that had been preserved in its original state. Back to the spectacular sale in 2010 as the estate of the said widow. The new owner debated for a long time whether he should restore the 330 at all and, if so, to what extent, and finally decided: the Ferrari deserves to be revived (after almost 30 years in the previous owner's garage, this was certainly a sensible decision...). It is important to know that the line between a soulless full restoration and the almost equally laborious preservation of a patinated interior, a factory-fitted roof lining, carpet, dashboard and all instruments, switches, etc. is a very fine one! If you overshoot the mark, you risk losing the harmony between the unobtainable charm of an interior that has aged with honor, which reminds both driver and passengers on every trip that they can enjoy this with an almost 60-year-old but incredibly well-preserved top-class automobile. No age cracks on the dashboard, no worn-out driver's seat, no parcel shelf hanging in tatters, nothing - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - forces the occupants to wink benevolently behind rose-tinted glasses and put a positive spin on a desolate interior. On the contrary, this entire interior is the center and the sum of its incredible charisma. You couldn't feel more comfortable and safe in a passenger compartment that has been part of an endless number of stories for almost 6 decades and over 150,000 km, which are told to you during a drive. In contrast to the first-class, original interior, the new owner decided in 2010 to overhaul the entire technology (engine, transmission, rear axle differential, front/rear axles, all brakes, etc.) without compromise, to renew where necessary, but to restore most of it, in other words to literally make all of the existing and salvageable parts of the Ferrari new from old! In our opinion, a restoration couldn't be more noble, because it corresponds to the meaning and goal of automotive culture worth preserving. Remember - the replaced technology, interior and bodywork are new. All well and good. But they can never be restored to their original state. A unique opportunity has been missed. Authenticity is lost forever and irreplaceable. It is not for nothing that the resolution of the Turin Charter tells us exactly that - the highest and purest form of historic automobiles are without doubt those that are kept as original as possible and are therefore also the most valuable examples. 1967 Ferrari 330 GT Series II DLS Automobile If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. First registered in February 1970 Only a few were built Matching numbers Swiss road-legal classic The Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS—when Giugiaro and Maserati set out to build perfection. The Ghibli SS is one of the most sought-after Italian sports cars of the 1970s, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro (Ghia). As the most powerful and rarest version of the legendary series, it combines breathtaking design with thoroughbred supercar technology that competed directly with the Ferrari Daytona and Lamborghini Miura. The Maserati Ghibli SS Coupé offered here is a matching-numbers car and has been with its last owner for over 30 years. No effort or expense was spared to keep the car in impeccable condition; it was regularly serviced and maintained by professionals, and all work is documented. This veteran-certified car is in beautiful, meticulously maintained, and highly original collector’s condition. Numerous invoices and an original owner’s manual are included. The Ghibli was unveiled at the 1966 Turin Motor Show. Its extremely low-slung silhouette, long hood, retractable headlights, and short rear end immediately made it a style icon. In 1969, Maserati launched the more powerful SS (Super Sport) version. The displacement of the legendary DOHC V8 was increased from 4.7 to 4.9 liters, making the Ghibli SS the fastest production Maserati of its time. With only 425 units built, original SS models are among the most sought-after Maserati classics today. 1970 Maserati Ghibli 4.9 SS Lutziger Classic Cars AG If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1956-maserati-a6g54-2000-coupe-by-allemano-02
When considering the fruits of the golden age of automotive coachbuilding, style usually steals the spotlight: Well-heeled clients could, and often would, express themselves with extravagant one-of-a-kind bodywork expertly rendered in hand-hammered aluminum and steel. This 1956 Maserati A6G/54 2000, with its two-tone body by Allemano of Turin, is indeed a shapely coupe—a beautiful rendition of a post-war Italian gran turismo, with clean lines and an airy cabin courtesy of thin roof pillars and an abundance of glass. What sets this coupe apart from the 20 other examples bodied by Allemano, however, is the extensive list of special requests made by its first owner, Richard “Dick” Cicurel to prepare the car specifically for road rally competition. In correspondence with Maserati dated 27 April 1956, Cicurel, an American businessman and amateur racer living at the time in Paris, outlined features he requested in his coupe, including provisions for a map light and an exterior trouble light, a larger rearview mirror for improved visibility, a larger fuel tank with racing-type gas cap, a hole in the dashboard suitable for mounting a Halda Speedpilot analog rally computer, and even undercoated and insulated inner fenders to reduce noise—all this in addition to numerous items he had already relayed to Allemano directly. In total, Cicurel customized his order with about 50 special requests; some, like the Marchal fog lights and a competition-spec differential, were obvious add-ons, but others, like dual fold-down armrests for the map-wielding passenger/navigator, tell of his close attention to detail in preparing for the rigors of rallying. While the A6G and its variants have an extensive record in road racing, this is the only example of the car known to have been built by Maserati specifically with rallying in mind. Build information on file indicates that this Maserati, initially chassis number 2144, was completed on 30 July 1956 and registered by Cicurel the following month. At the time, it was the most expensive Maserati road car ever sold. Factory records, copies of which are on file, detail both the build process and the correction of various issues post-delivery. He is said to have used the car in several rallies—putting its competition-derived 2.0-liter inline-six, with dual ignition, twin overhead cams, and triple side-draft Weber carburetors to the test—before it was damaged in an accident. Cicurel then returned the car to the factory for repairs, after which it was assigned the chassis number 2147, and appeared in period Maserati promotional materials. Records indicate that the car was then sold in early 1957 to Senator Francesco Tenerelli of Milan, beginning a chain of Italian owners. In 1988, the car was acquired by Peter Kaus, joining his important Rosso et Bianco Collection in Germany. It then joined the stable of Evert Louwman in the Netherlands in 2004, where it remained until 2006. Its next Dutch owner commissioned the wonderful total restoration the car still wears today. In addition to its two-tone red and black livery, its rally-ready features were restored and remain in place, just as Cicurel had so exactingly specified back in 1956. It was issued a FIVA Identity Card in 2012 (which remained valid through 2022), a copy of which is on file. It has also been exhibited selectively, including at the Maserati Club Elegance in Modena in 2009, where it earned Best of Show, and at the 2012 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. The Maserati was purchased by the consignor in 2024. Shortly thereafter, the engine then in the car (number 2180) was removed and reunited with its original chassis, which is also owned by the consignor. Phil Reilly & Co. of Penngrove, California, then installed engine number 2146, a 2.0-liter unit of the correct type, into this chassis. The engine and gearbox were tuned and adjusted as needed to ensure proper operation as outlined by invoices on file, with work completed in July 2025. Specified by a dedicated driver who knew exactly what he wanted, this unique Allemano-bodied Maserati has benefited from the stewardship of dedicated collectors for much of its life. Full of fascinating details, and finished in a striking bicolor livery, chassis 2147’s previous restoration presents very well today. Now ready for its next sporting caretaker, this Maserati is sure to be welcomed at concours d’elegance. It is also eligible for—and indeed, particularly well-suited to take part in—any number of prestigious vintage rallying and touring events worldwide. 1956 Maserati A6G/54 2000 Coupe by Allemano RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1990-lamborghini-countach-25th-anniversary-edition-by-bertone-02
To coincide with the silver jubilee of Automobili Lamborghini in 1988, in-house designer Horacio Pagani was tasked with restyling the Countach to create the 25th Anniversary Edition. A raised nose and new front bumper incorporated in vogue strakes to direct cool air to the front brakes. The rear end was updated, too, while the radiator air intakes gained prominent, body-colored vertical slats. The makeover was much more than skin deep: 1977 World Rally champion Sandro Munari extensively developed the chassis to improve handling. Also sporting a refreshed interior—which notably gained electric windows, enhanced sound deadening, and more comfortable seats with power-reclining backs—this celebratory special was launched at the 1988 Monaco Grand Prix, fittingly where the Countach had previously served as the Formula 1 safety car. Only in production for 20 months, just 657 examples rolled out of the factory gates in Sant'Agata Bolognese. However, given the refinements that run throughout, the 25th Anniversary Edition is widely regarded as the best-mannered of all Countach variants from the model’s enduring 17-year lifespan. One element that remained largely untouched, though, was the 60-degree V-12. The 5.2-liter engine was lifted from the LP5000 Quattrovalvole, meaning it delivered circa 420 horsepower via a five-speed, gated manual transmission. All told, it propelled the show-stopping wedge design to a top speed approaching 300 km/h. This final model-year 1990 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary is likely one of the lowest-mileage examples available. Completed at the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant in May 1989, and subsequently delivered new to the United States in the classic color combination of Rosso Siviglia (PPG 215157) over Champagne leather with red piping, this special “time capsule” Countach indicates 1,532 kilometers (~ 952 miles) from new at the time of cataloguing. Sold new to Wallace J. Sulentic, it is believed that the car was specially ordered without the optional rear wing, a fact bolstered by a piece of correspondence on file in which Sulentic states, “I want a car without a rear wing… I want a car exactly as it came from the factory.” The Lamborghini remained on its Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) and unregistered until 1996, when it was sold to a physician in California. Kept within the doctor’s collection for nearly 20 years, the vehicle was sparingly used during this time. In 2014, it was sold again and entered a private collection in Ohio. The current owner acquired the car in 2023. An invoice on file dated June 2025 confirms the Lamborghini received new fluids and filters along with a show-quality detail. The Lamborghini is additionally accompanied by a range of documentation including owner’s manuals, a brochure, and invoices, as well as a tool kit. With so few kilometers on the odometer, it is hard to imagine a more appealing example than this 25th Anniversary Edition time capsule. 1990 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition by Bertone RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1988-cizeta-moroder-v16t
A CAR IS BORN You can count on one hand, and quite likely on just one finger, the number of automobiles that made their global debut to the sound of a musical track composed specifically for that occasion—and by an award-winning composer and producer, no less. Then again, only a single model was ever built with the backing of the “Father of Disco” himself: The Cizeta-Moroder V16T. The V16T was in every respect a product of its place and time. Lamborghini test driver and development engineer Claudio Zampolli had relocated to Los Angeles in the 1980s, where he started a successful business servicing exotic vehicles. But his dreams did not end there: Determined to build his own supercar, Zampolli teamed up with music producer and composer Giorgio Moroder in the late 1980s and embarked on a journey to create a machine like nothing that had ever been seen before. Moroder, for his part, was at the peak of his game, having already worked with many of the best-selling artists of the day and with three Academy Awards and four Grammy awards to his credit. Moroder met Zampolli at his Los Angeles exotic car repair shop, and their shared interest in sports cars led to discussions on creating a new supercar. Zampolli wanted to build something that would grab headlines, and he knew that an innovative V-16 was the answer. Inspired by the engine layout of the Lamborghini Miura, Zampolli’s creation featured a transverse-mounted 6.0-liter V-16 with a five-speed manual gearbox. The stunning bodywork was penned by legendary designer Marcelo Gandini, who is also known for designing the Miura, Lamborghini Countach, Lancia Stratos, and countless other iconic cars. Cizeta-Moroder V16T chassis number 001, was first shown to the public at a glamorous unveiling event held in Los Angeles on 5 December 1988. Jay Leno hosted the dramatic evening, and Moroder even composed an original song for the event titled, fittingly, "A Car is Born." Chassis 001 later was displayed at the 1989 Los Angeles and Geneva Motor Shows, introducing Cizeta-Moroder to the world. Finished in pearl white with a red leather interior, the prototype car was fully functional. Many subtle differences were made to the production V16T, however, making chassis 001 unique in its own right. Some of the exterior differences include significantly larger side air intakes with more strakes, a diagonal crease in the lower bodywork tying into the rear bumper design, different turn signals and fog lamps, and different side mirrors. Chassis 001 also has a completely unique interior, with the dashboard, central tunnel, steering wheel, door panels, and seats all different from those of the production V16T. MORODER’S OWN V16T Ultimately, only nine production examples of the V16T (plus the prototype, for a total of 10) were built due to production challenges and the sheer complexity of the cars. Moroder’s partnership with Claudio Zampolli dissolved after the creation of the first prototype due to frustrations over delays, and the Moroder name was dropped from the production cars, which were badged only as Cizetas. Thus, in addition to its design differences, this car, chassis 001, is the only example to bear the Cizeta-Moroder name. Giorgio Moroder retained ownership of the car after its show duties ended, and he kept it in storage before eventually deciding to have it fully recommissioned. On the recommendation of Jay Leno, chassis 001 was shipped to Bruce Canepa of Scotts Valley, California, where a full restoration began. Canepa’s team found that, even though it was a functional prototype, there were some details which needed to be improved before it saw serious use. For example, additional heat shielding was added around the fuel tanks, and the car was mechanically sorted. It was then tested by the Canepa team after restoration to ensure it was ready to return to roadworthiness; today, it still stuns audiences, just as it did in 1988. The V16T remained with Moroder until 2022, when it was acquired by the present consignor. Under his care, the car was exhibited at the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance as part of the special Wedge Shaped Concept Cars & Prototypes class. Prior to this, it benefited from over $13,000 in mechanical and cosmetic service, including selective bodywork refinishing, the fabrication and fitment of period-correct logos and badging, and more, all with the goal of returning it to its correct original appearance. The Cizeta-Moroder V16T is a seldom-seen but incredibly interesting supercar, and it is also one of very few post-war 16-cylinder vehicles put into production. Representing the realization of Claudio Zampolli’s dream, and bearing the imprint and name of one of the 20th century’s most important music industry figures, this is a truly fascinating machine—historically, mechanically, and, needless to say, visually. Chassis 001, Giorgio Moroder’s personal car and the most famous example of the model—as well as the only chassis to wear the Cizeta-Moroder nameplate—is in even more rarified company. Now offered by only its second owner from new, and having benefited from comprehensive restoration work, this is a truly spectacular opportunity for collectors. 1988 Cizeta Moroder V16T RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1953-ferrari-212-inter-coupe-by-vignale
As one of Ferrari’s earliest road car designations, the Inter name was first applied to the 166 model in honor of the Gruppo Inter racing team, which campaigned some of the earliest 166 Sports to great success. Specified with a larger 2.5-liter engine, the succeeding 212 Inter was made in a modest quantity of 78 cars, of which 37 examples were bodied by the coachbuilder Vignale. The featured car, chassis number 0289 EU, was the last of 26 such chassis completed as coupes. According to a history report by marque expert Marcel Massini, this Ferrari is the last of six similar cars bodied by Vignale to a design sometimes referred to as the Geneva Coupe. The styling closely echoes the Vignale-bodied 340 Mexico berlinettas that ran the Carrera Panamericana in late 1952, exhibiting similar jutting front fenders with inset headlamps and an eggcrate grille, as well as delicate tailfins. But while the 340 Mexicos had a sloping fastback, these six Vignale-bodied 212 Inters have notchback rear ends that further accentuate the tailfins. Equipped with triple Weber 36 DCZ/3 carburetors in the style of the racing Export variant, 0289 EU completed factory assembly in January 1953, finished in Camoscio (literally translating to chamois, but a gold metallic shade) paint by Lechleroid over an interior trimmed in Arbo Tan Verde leather. The 212 was delivered new to the Momo Corporation in New York City. Alfredo Momo was a well-known mechanic and importer of European sports cars who achieved greater renown as the chief mechanic for Briggs Cunningham’s racing teams. He soon sold the 212 to its first private owner, local New Yorker James Floria. Mr. Floria kept the Ferrari for eight years before offering it for sale, at which point it was acquired by Ferrari Club of America co-founder Richard Merritt, of Bethesda, Maryland. The 212 passed through three more owners in short order before being sold in 1973 to Jackson Brooks of Fort Collins, Colorado, and he conducted a full restoration during which the chrome side trim and bumpers were removed. Mr. Brooks later described the car in detail in his 2007 book Cars I Could’ve, Should’ve, Kept: Memoir of a Life Restoring Classic Sports Cars. In 1976 Brooks sold the Ferrari to Fred Jaeger of Racine, Wisconsin, and from him the car passed through a short chain of four more owners over the next ten years, including respected Illinois-based collector William Jacobs. In 1986 the Inter was sold to Steve Barney, the esteemed proprietor of Foreign Cars Italia of Greensboro, North Carolina. Barney was then joined by Ferrari Market Letter founder Gerald Roush for a run at the 1986 Mille Miglia Storica, an entertaining account of which Mr. Roush published in the next Ferrari Market Letter issue. This was the first of many appearances that 0289 EU made at the reborn Mille. By the end of the year the Ferrari was acquired by esteemed collector John Zambetti of Malibu, California, and he presented the car at the 1986 Palm Springs Concours d’Elegance, taking a class win. After briefly passing through the purview of Jim Hayes of Lakewood, California, the 212 was sold in 1988 to Gordon Wheeler of Deer Park, California. Mr. Wheeler campaigned the Inter at the Monterey Historic races five times over the following 12 years, in a testament to the car’s enjoyability in vintage events. During this time 0289 EU was exhibited at the 1991 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and it also participated in the 1995 Wine Country Classic at Sears Point, and the 1998 Colorado Grand. In early 2002 the Ferrari was sold to Japanese collector Hirohisa Kojima, and he returned the car to the Mille Miglia Storica for three consecutive years starting in 2004. During this time Mr. Kojima performed some restoration work that included the addition of grille-mounted driving lamps, and the fender portholes for which Vignale-bodied cars are often known. In August 2008 the Ferrari was sold to a collector residing in Hawaii who passed away shortly thereafter, and the car was acquired by its next owner in 2010. This owner retained possession for at least four years before the Inter was later acquired by the consignor in 2018. The new owner quickly entrusted the Ferrari to Fast Cars Ltd. in Redondo Beach, California, for a full mechanical restoration and preparation for the upcoming Mille Miglia Storica. This work included a comprehensive rebuild of the engine, transmission, suspension, and brakes, as clarified by invoices on file. The opportunity was taken to tastefully upgrade a few elements for superior performance and convenience, including the addition of Pertronix electronic ignition, a carbon clutch, and a new custom-built fuel tank. This work also included a refinish of the cosmetics to the current livery of Rosso paint over a new tan leather interior. After successfully completing the 2019 Mille Miglia, the car was returned to Fast Cars Ltd. for continued mechanical restoration work and servicing as needed. This pattern continued for additional events that included the 2019 Colorado Grand, the 2021 California Mille, and a return to the Mille Miglia Storica in 2024 and 2025, where the owner and his son again experienced the enchantment of one of the niche’s most legendary road races. Chassis number 0289 EU continues to be an ideal candidate for rallying use, being equipped with an outside fuel filler and a dash-mounted racing trip meter and altimeter. It is also important to note that the car retains mechanical stampings consistent with factory data, indicating the presence of the original matching-numbers engine, gearbox, and rear axle. Collectors in search of a well-prepared early 1950s coachbuilt Ferrari sports-racing car eligible for major events worldwide need look no further than this stirring Vignale-bodied coupe. As the final 212 Inter clothed by Vignale, it is in a sense the last of a special breed of thoroughbreds. 1953 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe by Vignale RM Sotheby's If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer. - 1964-ac-cobra-289-02
Of all the great 1960s sports cars, few are as influential or as infamous as the legendary Shelby Cobra. A fortunate partnership between AC and their lightweight British sports car and Le Mans-winning driver Carroll Shelby resulted in the latest Ford lightweight V-8 sitting in the European fettled chassis of the Ace. The result of this transplant contributed enormously to Ford’s motorsport dominance of International Sports Car racing during the late 1960s. European chassis dynamics partnered with the power of the new V-8 meant that in competition trim, Cobras achieved an impressive record. The 260ci (4.2-litre) prototype first ran in January 1962, with production commencing later that year. Exclusively for the USA initially, Cobras - minus engines - were sent from England to be finished off by Shelby in California, and it was not until late in 1963 that AC Cars in Thames Ditton got around to building the first fully finished cars to European specification. After 75 cars had been built, the 289ci (4.7-litre) unit was standardised in 1963. Rack-and-pinion steering was the next major up-date; then in 1965 a new, stronger, coil-suspended chassis was introduced to accommodate Ford's 427ci (7.0-litre) V8, an engine that in race trim was capable of producing well in excess of 400bhp. Wider bodywork, extended wheelarch flares and a bigger radiator intake combined to create the definitive - and much copied - Cobra 427 look. Owing to its astounding competition history and unique chassis designation, ‘HEM-6’ is undoubtably one of the world’s most recognisable AC Cobras extant. Campaigned in period by a succession of accomplished and notable sports-car drivers, it remains highly eligible and competitive to this day. Partaking in the RAC Tourist Trophy in 1964 with Salvadori behind the wheel, the first TT Celebration some 34 years later at the inaugural Goodwood Revival in 1998, and most recently in 2025, ‘HEM-6’ has achieved four podium finishes in the last six years alone, including victory in 2021. Built by AC Cars to competition specification with cut-back doors and FIA-compliant flared wheel arches, this RHD 289 Cobra was to be supplied, minus an engine and transmission, to British privateer, C.T. “Tommy” Atkins, of High Efficiency Motors. It is understood it was designated ‘HEM-6’ as the sixth car prepared by H.E.M; '6' was entered by Atkins into the 1964 season. A Brooklands regular before the Second World War, and competitor on both two wheels and four, C.T. “Tommy” Atkins sought to continue his motor racing endeavours post-war with the foundation of High Efficiency Motors. Under Atkins’ stewardship, High Efficiency Motors entered a Cooper-Climax T43 into the Formula Two category at select rounds of the Formula One World Championship in 1958. Following the team’s progression into Formula One in 1959, Atkins enlisted Roy Salvadori, already a proven talent who would go on to win Le Mans outright for Aston Martin that same year. After withdrawing from formula-spec racing at the end of 1960, Atkins redirected his team’s attention to sports cars, marrying a Maserati powertrain to a Cooper-Monaco chassis for Salvadori to drive in domestic events. Following delivery of his factory-built Jaguar E-type Lightweight in 1963, Atkins once again called upon Salvadori, who drove the car to 3rd in the Goodwood Tourist Trophy, finishing behind Graham Hill and Mike Parkes respectively. Together with Salvadori, Atkins entered his newly acquired AC Cobra (HEM-6) into competition for the following 1964 season, debuting the car in the British Grand Prix support race at Brands Hatch that July. The Cobra arrived at Brands Hatch in bare aluminium, wearing the number 31 on its unpainted bodywork. Salvadori finished third having started from pole position, marking the beginning of ‘HEM-6’s’ illustrious competition career. The first weekend of August 1964 saw Brands Hatch host the Guards International Trophy, open to both prototype and grand touring sports cars. Still in possession of his Maserati-powered Cooper-Monaco, Atkins entered both classes, assigning Roy Salvadori to the prototype entry and handing Cobra duties to the young Chris Amon. One of the most accomplished drivers of the era, Chris Amon would not only maintain a seat in Formula One between 1963-1977 but achieve major endurance racing success in the process. In 1966, under the banner of Shelby American and Ford, he claimed overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the #2 GT40, arguably history’s most celebrated Le Mans victory. The following year, as a works Ferrari driver, he and Lorenzo Bandini led a dominant 1–2–3 finish at the Daytona 24 Hours. Goodwood’s Tourist Trophy took place at the end of August 1964. Open only to GT cars, Roy Salvadori would drive for Atkins once again, with the car now repainted in a medium green with a bright red nose band. Sadly, and unbeknownst to the pair at the time, a clutch issue on lap 80 would not only mean retirement from the race but bookend a multi-year professional partnership between Atkins and Salvadori. C.T. “Tommy” Atkins tragically passed away in 1965, at which point ‘HEM-6’ was acquired by Graham Warner’s Chequered Flag Ltd of Chiswick, London and road registered for the first time as GPG 4C. The car was repainted in white with a black stripe and nose to match the team’s colours and fitted with a Holman-Moody engine. In the capable hands of Roy Pike, Roger Mac and Bob Bondurant, ‘HEM-6’ won the Sussex Trophy and achieved first in class in the Whitsun Trophy at Goodwood. The Cobra also competed in the Tourist Trophy at Oulton Park and the Redex Trophy at Brands Hatch, where Bondurant finished third in class. Throughout the 1965 season, ‘HEM-6’ recorded four major victories or class wins, along with numerous podiums and club-level successes. When Chequered Flag offered the Cobra for sale, it was listed at £3,650 and described as “acknowledged to be the fastest and best Cobra in the country.” The car was purchased by Keith and Wendy Hamblin, who campaigned it at club level throughout the latter part of the decade. In 1970, ‘HEM-6’ passed to Shaun Jackson, who repainted it red with a distinctive gold stripe extending over the nose, evoking the likes of Alan Mann's racecars. After two competitive seasons, Jackson sold the car to Mick Hill, who went on to record numerous club victories during the following year. Alistair Walker purchased the car in 1973, before passing it on to the Brian Classic dealership the following year, where it was acquired by Martin Hilton. Hilton once again repainted the Cobra, this time in an attractive dark blue with a white stripe running laterally across the nose. He then entrusted Mathwall Engineering to rebuild the engine to Gurney-Weslake specification. In 1978, ‘HEM-6’ was bought by Peter Agg. Agg decided to rebuild the car in its entirety and return it to his favourite of its former colours in the process. CP Autokraft was tasked with applying new body panels and restoring the car’s red and gold livery, a process that can be observed throughout a great many chronologically arranged documentative photographs. Agg’s ownership spanned just under two decades, during which time ‘HEM-6’ continued to appear in competition. Following an accident at Silverstone, the car was restored once more before Agg decided to part ways with it, consigning it to Brooks’ London sale in 1995, where it was acquired by its current custodial family. Over the past thirty years, ‘HEM-6’ has enjoyed an unbroken campaign, recording hundreds of appearances and earning recognition across Europe’s foremost events. Throughout this period, the Cobra was comprehensively maintained by leading specialists, ensuring its continued competitiveness. ‘HEM-6’ is perhaps best known to contemporary motorsport fans for its appearances at the Goodwood Revival, where the RAC hosts the Tourist Trophy Celebration, open to GT cars reminiscent of those that competed in period. Having taken part in the very first TT Celebration in 1998, driving duties have since been shared with the likes of Marino Franchitti, Darren Turner, Jake Hill, Gerhard Berger, Brian Redman and Jack Brabham achieving multiple podium finishes and taking victory in 2021. Accompanied by a vast amount of history documentation, invoices, publications and original period photographs depicting the car’s career from the offset, ‘HEM-6’ remains one of the most beloved and favoured competition 289 Cobras extant and likely the most competed. Having been driven by a number of renowned and globally recognised sports car drivers and cared for by a lineage of enthusiastic and passionate owners, this 289 AC Cobra, affectionally ‘HEM-6’, represents a hugely significant opportunity for the next custodian to ensure immediate competitiveness at the world’s most prestigious historic motor racing events. 1964 AC Cobra 289 D.K. The notice and take down procedure is described here: https://www.speedholics.com/copyright Of all the great 1960s sports cars, few are as influential or as infamous as the legendary Shelby Cobra. - 1978-alfa-romeo-alfasud-sprint
A rare opportunity to acquire what is believed by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club to be the earliest surviving Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint currently on Britain's roads. This remarkable 1978 example has outstanding originality and has had a sympathetic, award-winning restoration. First registered in April 1978, this original UK-supplied right-hand-drive Sprint represents one of the purest surviving examples of Giorgetto Giugiaro's elegant sporting coupé. This Alfa became the focus of a long-term restoration project driven by a passion for the Alfasud's unique character and engineering. Commencing in 2022, the work was entrusted to the award-winning Wraith Motors of East Barnet, who stripped the car to its bare shell before undertaking a ground-up rebuild. The body was found to be exceptionally sound. Only the rear valance required replacement, with the remainder of the shell understood to retain its original factory metalwork. This level of originality is exceptionally rare among early Sprints and speaks volumes about the car's survival. Finished in striking Giallo Pozzuoli Yellow, an original Alfa Romeo colour, the restoration was intentionally sympathetic rather than over-restored, preserving the authenticity and charm of the car while returning it to an exceptional standard. Considerable effort was invested in sourcing correct components from specialist suppliers, owners' clubs and enthusiast networks throughout the UK and Europe, including Italy and Greece. A comprehensive photographic record accompanies the restoration. The interior has been beautifully retrimmed by specialist craftsmen in Kent, with the seats rebuilt from their original frames and upholstered using carefully sourced materials replicating the factory brown vinyl and distinctive check-pattern cloth. The boot compartment, suspension, trim and numerous mechanical components have also been restored or refurbished. Showing just 52,000 recorded miles, the original matching-type 1.3-litre boxer engine is in lovely condition and has been well maintained. Renowned for its free-revving nature, distinctive flat-four soundtrack and eager performance, it remains one of the defining features of the Alfasud driving experience and perfectly complements the Sprint's light weight and renowned handling balance. The history field is made up of previous MOTs, V5, Haynes Manual, Press Articled, Invoices, Tax Discs, Spare Keys and more. Combining rarity, originality and historical significance, this beautifully restored Alfasud Sprint represents a unique opportunity to acquire one of the most important surviving examples of Alfa Romeo's groundbreaking sporting coupé. 1978 Alfa Romeo Alfasud Sprint Classic Connection If you are interested in the content of this listing, please contact the Dealer.
