Lancia 037

Built on the basis of the Beta Montecarlo, the Lancia 037 aimed to fulfil the legacy of the Stratos and the 131 Abarth. It accomplished this perfectly in1983 when it won the World Rally Championship Constructor’s Title. To this day, it remains the last two wheel drive car to do this.

Its technical blueprint included a centrally mounted engine and rear wheel drive, a layout that would later be surpassed by the all-wheel drive design of the Delta S4.
