Impressive list of rare period options and modifications

Approved in Group 3 in 1974, the Abarth 124 CSA Spider Sport Rally won a world championship race and finished in the top three places in the championship. Alongside the factory cars on the international scene, the Abarth factory, through the Ceccato Team of Padova, offers private drivers a wide range of optional equipment that allows them to create a customised competition car. This is the case of our car, chassis 0061990, built in 1973, a genuine 124 Abarth Rally Group 4 competition car. It was entered in 1975 in the Italian rally championship and participated in various events for the official Fiat Ceccato team in the hands of Cabianca /Sniky amateur drivers. A complete restoration has been carried out on the car from a bare shell a few years ago with perfect paint and alignments. The list of rare period options and modifications is impressive: Fixed hard-top, polyester extensions, 5 Colotti straight cut gearbox, Abarth10/43 independent wheel axle with autoblocker, original Carello additional lights, externally adjustable threaded shock absorbers, uniball mounted gears, reinforced cross member and crankcase guard, original Abarth wheelhouse protection skis, ventilated fender flares, aluminium brake scoops, ventilated discs, double-piston alloy calipers, Campagnolo magnesium 8 X13 wheels, fuel tank with flexible and re-centered pocket, additional oil radiator. The engine with GR4 specificities (camshafts, forged pistons, cylinder head with big valves, big carburetors, oil pan with ears, …) develops 170cv. The model lightened of 90 kilos compared to an original CSA and 40 hp more made it an absolute weapon in rally which allowed the firm to win several times the European championship. Eligible for all historical events, Tour Auto, Tour de Corse, Rallye Monte Carlo… French registration, approved value assessment, clean technical control.
